The residence of the president of Russian, which is situated in Sochi, has created for our town the image of the summer capital of Russia.

Geography and climate.

Our Black Sea sand and pebble beaches stretch over 120 miles along the coast at the foot of the western part of the Main Caucasus mauntain range. A number of mauntain peaks are more than 3000m high (f. ex. Chugush 3238m, Pseashho 3256m). Sochi is divided into four districts: Adler district, Khosta district, The central district and Lazarevsky district. Adler district is the most mountanuos, Khosta district is the warmest, the Central district is always full of sunshine and Lazarevsky district is the most extensive. It's the longest sity not only in Russian, but also on the whole continent. We are located on the same latitude as Toronto and Gobi Dessert, just on the northern border with Georgia. Here are the northernmost subtropics in the world. The warm waters of the sea (they reach 28 C0 degrees in summer) keep us warm in winter, while the breezes off the mountains cool us in summer. Sochi is almost all mountains, forests, and beach. More than 80% of our territory is a part of a national park or the Caucasian State Biosphere Reserve. Unique flora and fauna, magnificent panoramas,mysterious conyons and caves, noisy waterfalls are all found in our parks. Here are also many of the last-of-their kind animals and flora to see. Among these are: deer, Caucasian goats, jackals, eagles, scorpions and jays you can also see some bisons is the preserved districts of Sochi. Citizens are especially proud of the Caucas brawn bear and the Caucas bee.
